Caravan Storage

If you have bought a caravan and are now looking for a safe place to store it especially when it is not in use then the Caravan Storage Site Owners' Association (CaSSOA) now have a national network of approved caravan storage sites. All of the storage sites in the association have been assessed and have been given an award according to the level of security they possess. The Awards are Gold, Silver and Bronze.

  • Gold Award - Most secure and very high standards of security.
  • Silver Award - A High level of security
  • Bronze Award - A Good level of security

The Caravan Storage Site Owners' Association aims to provide an official register of safe and secure storage sites, help site owners improve their security and services and to reassure caravan owner's they can be confident that every CaSSOA site has taken reasonable measures to protect the stored caravans.

Even though these sites are secure it is still recommended that your own security devices are fitted to your caravan to act as an extra prevention method. Remember, your caravan is even more vulnerable when it is not being used. Caravans left on sites, storage compounds and even on your driveway are particular targets for thieves. Wherever it is, try to immobilise your caravan using quality wheel clamps or a security post. Details of these devices can be found on our security devices page.

The cost of storage does vary from site to site although you do tend to get what you pay for. A site which is very secure will cost more than a site which is not. Sometimes it is necessary to weigh up these costs against the knowledge that your caravan will be secure especially through the winter months, and this will hopefully give you some peace of mind.

The security measures used by some of the sites may include up to date CCTV cameras, electricfied alarmed fences and security guard controlled gates. This means that they should be Insurance Approved and they may also be a Caravan & Camping Club Certificated Site.

Electrical hookups and water may also be available to help aid routine maintainance and cleaning work.

Details about the Caravan Storage Site Owners' Association network of storage sites can be found by visiting their website www.cassoa.co.uk or call 01670 359586.
